The Roundglass Foundation, an NGO located in Mohali, has begun its Regenerative Agriculture Programme in the Pathankot area with the goal of halting the downward spiral of soil quality in the state.
The program's stated goals include reversing the water table's decline, boosting crop yields, minimizing synthetic input use, and reducing the impact of climate change.
Sarpal Singh, a co-founder of the organization, inaugurated a one-day workshop that kicked off the effort. In attendance were specialists from the Agriculture Technology and Research Institute (ATARI), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), and Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana.
The need to promote sustainable farming techniques in order to address issues like over-fertilizer use and over-exploitation of water resources was highlighted by Vishal Chawla, an NGO official. Present government policies in agriculture were also up for discussion, as were methods to make them more successful and inventive.
