MCD kicks off preparations to control the air pollution in Delhi

After three consecutive days of rain in Delhi-NCR, a change in the weather was seen today. But, as the winters are approaching the capital so is the fear of deteriorating air quality. After three days of rain, now the heavy rain has stopped.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi for the next few days.  However, light rain can be seen in some areas. MCD has started preparations in Delhi between winter and Diwali to tackle the air pollution in Delhi.  MCD has taken several measures to control air pollution.  Working in this direction, MCD has deployed 11 anti-smog guns at different places.  MCD has deployed 52 MRSMs, which are cleaning an average of 1560 km daily.  The functioning of MRSM is being monitored through GPS.  MCD has 252 water sprinklers, of which 80% are being used for dust control.  On average, 1600 km of water is being sprayed daily.  The water sprinklers working at the hotspots are working twice a day.
