Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India Energy Week 2024 in Goa, a major event that brings together the entire energy value chain to accomplish India's energy transition goals.
During a roundtable discussion with global oil and gas CEOs and experts, PM Modi highlighted India's exceptional GDP growth, which exceeded 7.5% in the first six months of the fiscal year, making it the world's fastest-growing economy. The International Monetary Fund believes that this economic tendency will continue.
India now ranks fourth in terms of renewable energy installed capacity, with approximately 40% coming from non-fossil fuels. PM Modi highlighted India's progress in solar energy, citing a more than 20-fold increase in the country's solar energy installed capacity over the previous decade. The India Energy Week promotes collaboration and innovation in the energy industry, in line with India's commitment to sustainable development.
