A two-day national exhibition and program promoting environmentally friendly activities under the LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) themes will be held from February 9 to 10 at India Gate in the national capital.
The event, organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) India, a Resource Partner of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change's Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building, and Livelihood Programme (EIACP), aims to encourage people to take simple but impactful environmental actions in their daily lives.
LiFE is a global movement established by India that encourages people to adopt more sustainable lives. The event will highlight the importance of young people in promoting behavioral change toward a more ecologically responsible lifestyle.
LiFE topics include conserving energy and water, minimizing waste, promoting sustainable food systems and healthy lives, and rejecting single-use plastics. LiFE practices include utilizing bicycles for short trips, conserving water by shutting off faucets, purchasing locally sourced goods, using natural or organic products, planting trees, reducing waste, and segregating wet and dry waste at home.
The event will include a bicycle rally to highlight the convenience and necessity of environmentally friendly and healthy forms of transportation. The march will take scenic roads surrounding India Gate to highlight the advantages of sustainable sources of transportation.
