This year Delhi Government put a strict ban on the use of firecrackers, but the purchase has still been going on. To enforce the campaign, the administration was involved along with the Delhi Police.

SDMs are directed to get involved in raising awareness and communicating with the general public on the level of air pollution in Delhi and the responsibility of every citizen to control it. They are cracking down on sellers who are still carrying out the sale of crackers and taking action against it.

The Delhi government is adopting serious measures to fight the climate change battle with efforts in managing e-waste and controlling air pollution, which has been a big issue for Delhi for quite some time. Besides this, a few days ago the Delhi government also launched the 'Red light on, Gadi off' campaign to stop the emission and fuel wastage during traffic stoppages.
