Cyclone Biparjoy, meaning "disaster" in Bengali, has weakened from a "very severe" to a "severe" category after making landfall in coastal areas of Gujarat, India. Cyclone Biparjoy is now moving towards Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Pali, and Sirohi in Rajasthan, where heavy rainfall is expected. Additionally, areas such as Rajsamand and Dungarpur may also experience rainfall. Strong winds with speeds of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour are anticipated in the adjacent areas of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, and Jodhpur. Similar weather conditions are expected in the adjoining areas of Jodhpur, Udaipur, and Ajmer the following day.
In Rajasthan, the districts of Jalore and Barmer are currently experiencing heavy rainfall due to Cyclone Biparjoy. The weather officials have issued a "red" alert for these districts. Jalore has recorded 69 mm of rainfall so far. In Gujarat's Jamnagar, commercial flight operations remain suspended, and the airport has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) for three days.
