On the 2nd of September 2022, the ‘Cairo Climate Talks (CCT)’ convened the “Let’s Green Together” kids’ festival with the aim of educating children aged 10 to15 about climate change, from science to green habits.
The event was organized in collaboration with and hosted by the Institut français d’Egypte, supported by the German and French Embassies in Cairo.
The Cairo Climate Talks are conceived, organized, and hosted as a cooperation between the German Embassy in Cairo, the Egyptian Ministry of Environment, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
Ten organizations and social enterprises who fight to bring about change and raise awareness showcased their work at the event and provided workshops to inspire the next generation in preparation for the forthcoming COP27 discussions.
Over 120 youngsters between the ages of 10 and 15 attended the event at the French Institute and took part in the different activities given by Egyptian partner groups. The children had the chance to obtain information and develop new skills connected to sustainable living and environmental preservation via play, craft, experimentation, and debate.
