Overview: On 15th February 2024, a notable plantation drive took place at Sanand GIDC 2, Chharodi, Gujarat 382110. The plantation drive was a contribution to the initiative by the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) and Sanand Industrial Development Corporation. The event saw active participation from over 60 volunteers from VOIS, VIF, Indev, and GIDC. A total of 1000 saplings were planted during the drive, and the total of 6410 saplings were planted in a phased manner. The plantation drive took place on the allotted land of 21000 square feet from the total land of 7 acres of GIDC.

Overview: On November 8, 2024, over 67 volunteers from VOIS and representatives from VIF, GIDC officials, and team members from Indev Consultancy and OriEarth gathered at GIDC-2, Sanand, Ahmedabad, to plant 6,000 saplings over a 21,000 sq ft plot. This drive is part of a larger afforestation initiative focused on greening 50 acres within the industrial area, contributing significantly to the area’s environmental sustainability.

Overview: The plantation drive at Air Force Station, Chimney Hills, was a collaborative endeavor aimed at greening and revitalizing the landscape. With the participation of over 55 volunteers from VOIS, VIF, Air Force officials, Indev, and OriEarth, the event successfully planted 800 saplings over half an acre of land, and a total of 5200 saplings were planted at the site. The support from the Air Force Department was instrumental in the drive’s success, with officials actively participating and contributing to the initiative.

Saplings Planted: 2100

Overview: On 5th August 2022, a plantation drive was conducted in collaboration with SayTrees Environmental Trust at Somasundarapalya Lake in Bengaluru. The initiative witnessed the participation of about 50 volunteers from VOIS, VIF and the Moinee Foundation. As part of the program, 2,100 saplings of over 50 different species were planted, contributing to the ecological restoration and environmental sustainability of the area.

Saplings Planted: 5000

Overview: On December 20, 2024, in Byatarayana, Bengaluru, Karnataka. With the objective of creating a thriving community forest, 5,000 saplings were planted in collaboration with GBT. A diverse selection of native species, amounting to 38 varieties, was chosen to support biodiversity and resilience against climatic changes. The plantation was executed in a two-layer structure to optimize ecological benefits.
The active participation of 68 VOIS employees was a highlight of the day, with attendees contributing to the plantation process, learning about native species, and engaging in activities that underscored the importance of community-driven climate action.

Overview: On October 18, 2024, more than 100 volunteers from VOIS participated in a plantation drive at Pune’s Vithumai Devrai Tekdi, planting 10,000 saplings as part of our mission to rehabilitate and green the region. This event not only marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts but also emphasizes community participation, team spirit, and individual commitment toward environmental conservation.
The plantation activity was aligned with the broader mission of the Pune Municipal Corporation in greening the 45 acres of barren land. This initiative aimed to contribute to afforestation focusing on the 22,000 sq ft plot allotted in that location with a total of 10000 saplings of more than 40 species were planted.

Overview: The plantation activity was aligned with the broader mission of the Pune Municipal Corporation in greening the 45 acres of barren land. This initiative aimed to contribute to afforestation focusing on the 22,000 sq ft plot allotted in that location. On December 20, 2023, the plantation drive in Pune was a cornerstone of the plantation initiative. Out of 120 individuals, 70 VOIS employees participated in this hands-on activity, planting 1000 saplings, supported by the VIF Team, Indev Consultancy, OriEarth, and local volunteers of the Shiv Shambhu Foundation of that area. A total of 8000 saplings were planted in the location.

Saplings Planted: 2100

Overview: On 4th November 2022, a Plantation drive was conducted in Airforce Viman Nagar, Pune, one of our target cities. The Plantation drive was performed with the support of GreenYatra and Airforce officials and was attended by more than 50 volunteers from the VOIS team. The plantation drive was successfully commenced with the planting of 500 saplings by the volunteers from the VOIS team, VIF, Green Yatra, and Indev and a total of 2100 saplings were planted on the site. The plantation drive was aimed to raise awareness about the importance of having small forests like green areas around us, especially in the urban landscapes to tackle the hazards of climate change and to create a carbon sink to achieve the global net-zero target.
