For the first time in Telangana, the TSRTC has introduced eco-friendly non-AC Electric Green Metro Express buses in Hyderabad.
These buses, launched off by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, have comfortable seating for 35 passengers and can go up to 225 kilometres on a single charge. They have onboard cell phone charging facilities and run entirely on electricity, resulting in zero emissions. LED destination display boards and security cameras assure passengers' comfort and safety.
TSRTC is committed to pollution-free e-mobility and now operates hundreds of environmentally friendly buses, including AC e-buses to RGI Airport. An deal with M/s. Evey Trans (TEL) P Ltd. seeks to deploy more eBuses. Additionally, e-Garuda buses and Green Metro Luxury AC eBuses are already in operation, with plans to gradually add more electric buses, with a goal of 1,050 e-buses by FY 2024-25.
