Tata Power Renewable Energy's initiative towards sustainable future

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) stated that it has surpassed the 1.4-gigatonne (GW) milestone in group captive projects over the last seven months. TPREL's dedication to sustainable practices is seen in the execution of Power Delivery Agreements (PDA) with varied industries.

Partnerships with Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Mukand (a Bajaj Group firm), Supreme Petrochem, Xpro India, Neosym Industry, Chalet Hotels, Sanyo Special Steel Manufacturing India, ANAND Group, and Endurance Technologies stand out in the recent half-year.


TPREL is also planning to build a 41-MW captive solar plant for Tata Power's future 4.3-GW Solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. TPREL's CEO and MD, Deepesh Nanda, emphasized that exceeding the 1.4-GW threshold demonstrates the company's commitment to sustainability and contributes to India's green energy aspirations.


TPREL's total renewables capacity is 7,961 MW as of October 2023, with projects in various stages of construction and an operating capacity of 4,206 MW, comprising 3,200 MW in solar projects and 1,006 MW in wind projects. TPREL strengthens its position as a leading participant in the renewable energy sector, devoted to accelerating the transition to a more sustainable and ecologically friendly future.
