Royal Enfield Classic 350 Flex Fuel: Eco-friendly 'dug dug' for the future

Royal Enfield has launched a new version of their legendary Classic 350 motorcycle, the Classic 350 'Flex Fuel' model, during the ongoing Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. This model is a step toward a greener alternative to the original Classic 350, which is known for its distinct "dug dug" exhaust tone.

The Classic 350 Flex fuel model retains the ordinary Classic 350's iconic design components, such as its signature metallic green gasoline tank with red livery, a single seat, and wire-spoke wheels.

What separates the Flex Fuel model is its capacity to run on a combination of gasoline and ethanol, a renewable fuel made from sugarcane or maize. Ethanol is a greener alternative to regular gasoline. The ethanol concentration in the gasoline blend can range from 10% to 85%, depending on availability and regulations.

The Flex Fuel model's 350cc engine is designed to run on a mix of gasoline and ethanol, with a maximum ethanol blend of 85%. The engine produces 20 hp and 27 Nm of peak torque and is combined with a 5-speed gearbox

Although the Flex Fuel model's launch date has yet to be confirmed, it is likely to hit the streets soon. As technology and infrastructure for ethanol-based fuels evolve, the amount of ethanol used in vehicles may rise, giving even greener alternatives in the future.
