The Nitte Jackfruit Processing Cluster, a cooperation between the National Institute of MSME Hyderabad and the AIC Nitte Incubation Centre, is scheduled to begin producing eco-friendly plates made from jackfruit rind.
The method created by Thanjavur's National Institute of Food Method, Entrepreneurship, and Management (NIFTEM-T) will be used to repurpose jackfruit rind, which is commonly discarded. Siri Gramodyoga Samsthe supports the cluster, which is led by D Veerendra Heggade, dharmadhikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmarthsala.
The Nitte Farmers Producer Company, which currently comprises 1,300 jackfruit growers, hopes to increase its membership to 5,000 within two years. The AIC Nitte Incubation Centre, a collaboration between the Nitte Education Trust and NITI Aayog, provides strategic assistance for the cluster's expansion. The cluster's entire project cost is Rs 570.9 lakh, which includes Rs 300 lakh for machinery acquisitions and Rs 100 lakh for the construction of a common facilities center.
