Addressing Climate Change at Sustainability Week Asia 2024 in Bangkok

During his opening remarks at Sustainability Week Asia 2024 in Bangkok, Deputy Prime Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara emphasized the essential importance of taking rapid action to tackle climate change.

Attendees included global corporate leaders, government officials, academics, and experts. Highlighting the rising effects of climate change, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the importance of strong public-private partnerships in achieving net-zero emissions. He underscored Thailand's commitment to climate action, highlighting measures such as EV supply chains, Green Finance, Sustainability Bonds, and carbon markets. Thailand's commitment to the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy, as described in the Bangkok Goals, was also highlighted.

Sustainability Week Asia, currently in its third year and held in Thailand for the first time, represents Thailand's global leadership in sustainable development. The event provides an opportunity for Thai firms to showcase their potential, discuss thoughts, and build international relationships to promote climate objectives.


Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the significance of assisting developing countries with their climate transition efforts and mitigating the effects of climate change.
